Childhood and Career
Born 8th March 1965 in Jarrow, South Shields. Raised in South Shields until the age of 11. Moved to Seaburn Dene, Sunderland, for a year before finally moving to Boldon at the age of 13.
Went to Boldon Comprehensive School from the age of 13 to 18 and passed 10 "O" Levels and 3 "A" Levels. Maths, Physics and Computer Science. The "A" level in Computer Science was done in my spare time at South Shields Marine and Technical College as Boldon Comprehensive didn't offer it. I had started my lifelong interest in computing and technology.
I played the drums (School Orchestra and Jazz Orchestra), ice skated, cycled and played badminton as a youth and enjoyed, initially, a Dragon 32 home computer as a gift from my parents. My parents later bought me an Amstrad CPC464 which took things to a different level of integration and professionalism for a home computer.
I went to Coventry Polytechnic and gained an HNC in Computer Studies there.
I found my first job in London at The British National Lymphoma Investigation. That was a diverse rewarding job working with great people but, in the end, after 8 years and after meeting my future wife, I decided that I couldn't continue with the earnings ceiling that job offered.
I found a job at Taxsoft in Wimbledon (since purchased by Sage Software of Newcastle fame) and bought our home nearby in Raynes Park with my newly wed wife, Nadia. Taxsoft didn't honour their salary promises so I quickly moved on from there to Insurance Technology Solutions (Intech Solutions) based at International House, St Katherines Dock near Tower Bridge. I stayed there for a couple of years at which point post year 2000 they reorganised their network admin operations to the Leeds office and I was made redundant.
I then found a job with BAX Global Logistics who were running a contract for British Airways (BA) to supply their Engineering warehouse operation that was heavily IT dependant.
The Bax Global contract with British Airways ended when BA decided to bring the operation back in house. After 5 years there I was TUPED across to BA as part of that re-org.
I worked as an Analyst in British Airways in desktop support and then in the Voice and Networks department as their smart devices expert, service manager and much, much more. After 12 years at BA I was TUPED again, this time to British Telecom, who took over the outsourced networks department.
After 9 months helping transition the service to BT I got the opportunity to try my hand as a Project Manager in BT Global Services (still working on the BA contract). That was in March of 2017.
After working as a Project Manager for 2 years successfully delivering numerous projects I decided that I would benefit from formal Project Management training to make me a more confident and effective Project Manager. I successfully completed the Project Management Qualification with the Association of Project Management in June 2019. In March 2020 I became a recognised Project Management Professional with the Association for Project Management through my successful application for full membership. This allows me to use the letters MAPM after my name.
At the end of March 2020 a scheme was introduced into BT which realigned a number of roles within BT and also offered a voluntary leavers scheme which I opted to take and left at the end of May.
After returning form my summer holidays in August I began job hunting in earnest but due to the Covid-19 pandemic it took a lot longer than I expected.
I started working with Nephos Technologies on the 22nd March 2021 as a Project Manager and stayed there until September 2023 when I had an opportunity to join Heathrow Airport as a delivery lead that I could not turn down

Family

I married Nadia Pascale Gasc in August of 1997 and we bought a place together in Raynes Park where we continue to live.
We had our first daughter, Louise, on October 23rd, 2001.
Chloe followed on 24th April 2006.
They were both blessed with good health. Nadia nearly lost Louise during the pregnancy when she was on a business trip to Switzerland where she received absolutely first class medical care - Nadia truly believes if she had been in England, Louise would have been lost.
In late 2023 Nadia and I decided to get amicably divorced. That process has started but will take 6 to 8 months to complete. We will need to sell the house too and split the equity.
Hobbies and Pastimes.
I enjoy cycling and walking when the weather is good.
I used to do the Telegraph crossword daily but that has fallen away and I now do Wordle in a couple of minutes instead.
I still have a keen interest in I.T. outside of work as can be demonstrated by this website with its Domain and Certificate.
My main hobby is my motorhome which I use for weekends away and main holidays. I love it!

Above you can see my daily workstation.
Below is our family workstation including my Workgroup class printer. The iMac in the picture is hosting this website. I initially explored using Mac OS X as a server to gain understanding of the capabilities of the Apple MDM system for iOS devices whilst working for BA on the iPad projects as I like to understand things fully.
